30 years on Bedford High Street

Event in Bedford Town Centre

Possibly the most successful independent business in town, is Colemans stationers and office supplies, this year celebrating 30 years on the Bedford High Street.

The anniversary ties in nicely with the re-furbishment of the High Street. Originally at Number 61, the business later moved to its current location of Number 78 on the new-look High Street.

The award-winning family business was founded in Northants 52 years ago and father, daughter and granddaughter are now running ten or more shops across the area.

John, daughter Joanna (an ex-Dame Alice Harpur Trust school girl who has known the county town of Bedford all her life) and granddaugher Tallie bring a fabulous combination of experience and enthusiasm to the show.

All those skills were needed during the pandemic with the delivery service being expanded to meet demands from those who could not access the shop as it was not an “essential service”. But it remains an essential stopping off point for those who visit the town centre and love buying pens, cards and Post-it notes.
