Exclusion Order Scheme

All businesses within the BedfordBID boundary are now entitled to participate in the exclusion order scheme. This scheme excludes known shopfliters from the shops and businesses in towns by receiving the current exclusion order photographs of those who are currently exempt from enterint participating stores and by placing a window sticker in the business window. Previously this scheme was excluslively for Retail Radiolink members but now is funded by BedfordBID and is FREE for all businesses which fall into the BID boundary. If your business with is outside of the BedfordBID boundary we offer this service and supply your business with photographs at a cost of £150 per year.

To join this scheme the members will have to sign up to the BedfordBID (Action Against Business Crime) partnership and sign an agreement with Bedfordshire Police allowing the issue of photographs to individual businesses.

Black and white photographs will be supplied quarterly to the businesses and full training on procedure will be given to all participating businesses.

Safer Business Award
The partnerships put into place by BedfordBID, which included the Radiolink Scheme, BED:SAFE and National Business Information System (NBIS) were assessed in 2005 and the British Retail Consortium awarded Bedford Town Centre the Safer Business Award.

Bedford was the second town in East Anglia to achieve this prestigious award and the partnerships have gone from strength to strength.
