The Bedford Room hosts a range of material to enable individuals to discover exactly what makes Bedford unique. Visitors can experience an audio guide depicting 1,000 year’s of Bedford’s history while at the same time viewing a mural of images to bring the experience to life. The lively narration is available in two versions with one more suitable for adults and the other for children.

The Bedford Room conveniently leads into the Bedford Tourist Information Centre, which hosts shopping advice, guides as to where to eat, transport advice, and if you are planning to travel to London this holiday season - you can even pick up an Oyster card, at a total value of £18.

We provide books, CDs, tapes and DVDs to borrow, Internet and Wifi access and regular children’s activities; including storytime for pre-schoolers every Tuesday in term time from 2.00 – 2.30pm. We also provide local and national newspapers to read on site, local studies, information and resources to study family history. We also hold talks and events for adults including regular Monday afternoon talks from 2.15pm.
