If you are looking for somewhere to watch the World Cup then upmarket Bedford Swan Hotel is the place to be.

The hotel will be putting up a rather nice marquee, complete with a “Players’ tunnel” entrance and “turf” to cover the cobbles. Staff will be serving champagne, well sparkling lager, as well as some first class BBQ food.

A giant screen will show all the main games, and where two crucial games are played at once, there will be an additional plasma television - soccer in stereo.

“We’ve got all the right gear: World Cup bunting, all 32 World Club flags, members of staff who represent many of the competing countries and a chef who wants to prepare meals which represent the various nations taking part,” said Andrew Keen Sales Manager,

“Like everyone we’re hoping for a good run for England - but given that Bedford is such a multi-cultural town there will be people cheering for all sorts of sides. A couple of our staff are South African so they are just delighted to be seeing their home country at the centre of the global excitement,” said Andrew.

Andrew’s actually a trained St John Ambulance member so he will be able to help bring round anyone who faints from excitement if England make it through to the final.
