Bedford Borough Council is turning Bedford’s Town Bridge lights pink, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Thursday 1st October.
Philip Simpkins, Chief Executive at Bedford Borough Council said:
“We are pleased to be working with Cancer Research UK to raise awareness about Breast Cancer. The Town Bridge is a major landmark in Bedford and we hope the change in lighting draws further attention to such a worthy cause.”
Helen Johnstone, from Cancer Research UK, said: “I would like to thank Bedford Borough Council for putting the spotlight on our breast cancer awareness campaign by turning Bedford Bridge pink for the third year running. I hope seeing the bridge pink will encourage many people in Bedford to get involved. Every penny raised will help save more lives in the future.”
