The Big Skill initiative is organised by the Learning and Skills Council in partnership with BBC East to recognise people who have improved their own lives, or the lives of others, through learning.

Throughout the day (12 noon to 8pm) local learning providers will showcase skills encouraging members of the public to try their hand at a new skill, whilst performances on stage will demonstrate the talents and diversity of young people in the region.

Following the daytime actiivites, there will be an indoor VIP reception for stakeholders, finalists and their guests, after which award winners will be recognised in an outdoor awards ceremony, presented by BBC Three Counties Radio's Helen Legh and TV presenter and former professional footballer, Ray Stubbs.
