Tiny bugs turn into GIANT beasts in this exhibition of beautiful large-scale drawings of insects. Artist Mo Lea uses the museum’s natural history collections to spectacular effect, with displays of her finished artwork alongside projections of the drawing process. See the insects evolve before your eyes! This unique exhibition gives an intriguing insight into the way an artist works and how drawings are created.
“Drawing the insects has been such an engaging process. Observing them in detail has given me insight into their innate beauty.” Mo Lea
Linking with the ninth national Big Draw in October, the exhibition aims to inspire visitors to create their own drawings. Mo will be working alongside pupils, teachers and trainee teachers to explore the drawing process through the study of insects. She will also be demonstrating her work during a free Big Draw Family Day on 11 October and running a day workshop for 13-18 year olds during the autumn half term.
