Tell Me More - Bedford College boosts local economy by £60 Million

Bedford College is responsible for generating £58.5 Million for the local economy due to the past and present efforts of its students, reveals a new report published this month.

Bedfordshire’s economy receives roughly £13.8 Million in income annually thanks to Bedford College’s operations and capital spending. Students spend a total of £1.2 Million while attending College on books and stationery.

Success breeds success and as students pass exams and go on to get better paid jobs they enrich themselves and the local economy:

Bedford College learners generate about £3.8 Million each year in higher earnings - thanks to the qualifications they gain. In short for every £1 learners invest in Bedford College they will receive one and half times that back in higher future earnings over their working careers.

The College is in the midst of an £80 Million rebuild and refurbishment programme to create a campus worthy of the excellence of study and students within. Already the South Bank arts centre and Springs sports centre has been completed.
