International company supports BedfordBID vouchers and local independent company benefits from cash injection

BedfordBID vouchers are supporting the local economy – as proven in the High Street this week.

 
Individuals are encouraged to buy £5, £10 or £20 vouchers from the Tourist Information Centre in St Paul’s Square, Bedford, for birthday gifts this year. That way they will be assured that their money is spent supporting local shops and jobs.

Following the example of Bedford College, which bought £50,000 of BedfordBID vouchers, Addecco, worldwide leader in workforce solutions, which has an office in Bedford High Street, has bought £6,500 of vouchers.

On a more local level, Poppins, the High Street café, joined the voucher scheme when various people presented them to pay for meals.

“People have been using their vouchers to buy from our reasonably priced, good value, freshly cooked food. We serve breakfast, snacks, lunch main meals and desserts. That’s what people like and we have a lot of regular customers who come back time and time again.
