HMV is now back in Bedford Town Centre over the Christmas period.

The new shop in Midland Road has 2,000 square foot of trading space covering music, film, DVD, Blu-Ray, games, technology and related products including t-shirts and books.

A HMV spokseman told the Times & Citizen "We're delighted to have brought the HMV entertainment offer to Bedford once again, to get people closer to the music, films and games they love this Christmas."

"The store offers a great selection of gift ideas and the hottest chart releases, including new albums from Take That, JLS, Cheryl Cole and Kings of Leon, as well as the likes of Toy Story 3, Inception and Sex and the City 2 on DVD and Blu-ray."

Once the shop finishes trading in early January, HMV will asses its long term viability and look at whether it could become a permanent shop in Bedford.

Staff have all been recruited locally with a manager coming in to oversee the running of the shop.

HMV is open now at 34 Midland Road, Bedford, 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays.
