We are pleased to announce the acquisition of the Bedford office of Gatehouse Estates by local company NFL Property Group under the new trading name of Gateway Estates Sales & Lettings.

As well as maintaining the experienced staff and established portfolio developed by Gatehouse over the last 13 years, it is Gateway Estates’ intention to provide a new kind of property service. The new director, James Norman, is a Bedford landlord with in excess of 40 properties and many years of experience.

“As a landlord myself I know exactly what I look for when letting out a property. Reliable and fully referenced tenants found quickly and efficiently with the minimum possible void periods – none at all is preferable. Rental payments should be released to landlords as soon as they are received by the agent, not when the “accounts department” decides to deal with them. Staff must be available to speak to the landlords at all times, with telephone calls answered by a knowledgeable person rather than an automated message. And of course any problems solved with the minimum possible hassle and expense for the landlord. I intend for Gateway Estates to provide a service that I will use myself, and the standards that I require are very high. Gateway will of course continue to provide the full range of management services, including Introduction, Deposit Protection, Rent Guarantee Insurance and a No Tenant – No Fee policy.”

Gateway has also established its new sales department. Having invested heavily in Bedford over the last 15 years and undertaken FNAEA qualification, James also has specific plans for Gateway Residential Sales.

“We aim to offer the best service. Maximum exposure of the clients’ property to the market is the key factor along with accurate valuation and personal service to both the vendor and potential purchasers. Selling or purchasing a property is littered with potential pitfalls – through our own service and that of our associated conveyancers, surveyors and financial advisors, it is Gateway’s goal to largely eliminate these for our clients. We are currently taking on sales instruction from just 1% (plus VAT) and with the number of purchasers contacting us, we urgently require properties for them.”
