BedfordBID members have paid tribute to Frank Branston, businessman and Mayor, who died recently.

Frank helped to found BedfordBID and remained a strong supporter attending meetings to help businesses.

Mo Aswat BedfordBID Executive Director said:

"Without the support of Frank, Bedford would not have been the first market town in the UK to have a Business Improvement District. His business expertise meant he recognised how valuable a BID could be in supporting the economy of the town centre. We should not underestimate the contribution he made in his own forthright style. He will be missed both professionally and personally."

“We were lucky to count Frank as a friend and supporter of the College. He attended many events and invited us to key meetings. More important though, he was a good man, with a real commitment to the people of Bedford. I liked him enormously. He was always great company, challenging, opinionated, curious, but always with a view to making Bedford even better. He will be greatly missed.”
