Myths, legends and fairytales was the theme of the outstanding Bedford College Hair and Beauty Show staged on Thursday night at the Bedford Corn Exchange.

Students from Brooks, the college training salon situated alongside the Town Bridge, created a whole range of "extreme make-overs" using hair styling, beauty and heatrical make-up techniques.

The annual event, sponsored this year by BedfordBID, saw students receiving a whole range of prizes - including £1,200 worth of BedfordBID vouchers, which can be used in more than 150 retail businesses in the town centre.

Bedford College Principal Ian Pryce was in the front row along with BedfordBID Executive Director Mo Aswat. Said Mo: "It was a fantastic parade of the creative talent of style conscious students and helps to showcase Bedford as a great place to think about fashion."
