£80 Million redevelopment at Bedford College

Bedford College is investing £80M in the future of Bedford and the people of Bedfordshire.

A prestigious new College development will reflect the educational excellence achieved by thousands of students each year.

Situated on Bedford College’s Cauldwell Street site, the new development will be a national showcase of architectural expertise in the county town’s premier location – the banks of the Great River Ouse.

A public exhibition to be held at Bedford College on 22 October (2pm-8pm) and 25 October (10am-2pm) will outline this exciting new development and invite local people, students and staff to give their views.

Bedford College Chief Executive Ian Pryce said:

“This an exciting time for Bedford College as we begin this sustainable and eco-friendly project that will preserve the environment for years to come.

“The new buildings will give Bedford College the space and equipment it needs for future generations and complement the South Bank Arts Centre, opened in November 2007, providing students with an inspirational environment in which to study.

“Bedford College is looking to the future with this major redevelopment that will offer the people of Bedfordshire an innovative learning environment for academic and vocational study and build on the College’s outstanding reputation as a centre of excellence in learning.”
