The historic Church Arcade in Bedford has received a major facelift, and was this week officially re-opened by Mayor of Bedford, Dave Hodgson in an inaugural ceremony.

Metropolitan and County Group, working alongside Bedford Council, have incorporated the latest design ideas to provide shoppers with a light and airy experience walking through the arcade. The entrance from Harper Street features the names of prominent sportsmen and women who have featured in Bedford’s current and past successes.

Martin Hay, director of MCB Limited, part of the Metropolitan and County Group said “We are proud to have facilitated this renovation of an historic part of Bedford. We have used local project managers and builders to achieve a major renovation without interrupting the trading of the shop units.”

The renovated Arcade is attracting interest from new retailers and restaurants, a particular addition to the Arcade will be Laromana, an Italian coffee shop and delicatessen.
