The people of Bedford were pampered when BROOKS hair and beauty salon opened its doors for free mini treatments and demonstrations by talented hair and beauty students for a pre-Christmas open evening.

The salon buzzed with people wanting to find out more about treatments on offer and to sample for themselves the professional skills of students studying at Bedford College's prestigious training academy.

Situated on Bedford's bustling High Street, the salon has been busy since opening in 2009 and the growing client base is delighted with the services on offer.  The salon combines a contemporary training academy and commercial salon offering a wide range of hair, beauty and complementary therapies at competitive prices.

Caroline King had popped in for a manicure and facial and said:  

“I felt that I had the sort of treatments you would only expect from a professional beauty therapist and am really impressed with the results from the students.  The prices are very competitive and so I'll definitely be back for more pampering!”

Alison Barradell (Assistant Director, Hair, Beauty and Complementary Therapies at Bedford College) explained:

“Brooks provides a realistic commercial experience while our students are learning, giving them the best of both worlds. Students learn how to work professionally from day one of their training with us and soon get to know what is expected of them working in a commercially run salon. They receive well rounded training that is of great benefit to employers.  It gives our students the edge in an exciting and competitive industry.”
