BedfordBID organised a herd of real Reindeer

to be part of Bedford’s Christmas opening on
29 November.

Santa, his sleigh and deer gathered in Harpur Square to meet Lucy Young and Anson Sabichan, both aged five, who won a lovebedford.co.uk colouring competition. Hundreds then took part in a procession to the riverside Christmas Light switching on ceremony.
 
Said Christina Rowe new Director of Operations at BedfordBID said: “The BID has arranged for Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder and Blitzen and the Harpur Centre is kindly loaned us their Santa for an hour or two.
 
“This combined with our Free After 3 parking offer for the week of December 5th will we hope capture the spirit of Christmas as well as supporting the commercial activities of our businesses.”
 
BedfordBID has also supported various advertising campaigns and promotions which will encourage people to shop local during the festive season.
